Sui Blockchain Developers Test Offline Cryptocurrency Transactions Using Radio Waves

Friday, 6 September, 2024

Sui blockchain developers have tested a technology that will allow cryptocurrency transactions to be processed offline via radio waves.

The method consists of using the GSM digital mobile cellular standard and Mesh Topology. In this approach, each device acts as a switch for other nodes when transmitting data.

"We can allow you to transmit transactions using multiple links without the internet as a relay. This is important when you have outages or when you just have areas with poor coverage," said Mysten Labs co-founder Adeniyi Abiodun.
